My name is Bo McKenzie, and I am the founder of MANerisms. I grew up in a Pastor’s home on a dairy farm that a member of our church owned deep in the Coastal Range of Oregon.
From a young age, I spent my time riding horses, quads, and dirtbikes. We would leave the house Friday night after school and not be expected home until Sunday morning in time to leave for church. I quickly learned that all I really needed in life was a tarp, sharp knife, and a rifle, most everything else was just a luxury.
In my mid teen years, my dad took a position as the Executive Vice President of a Bible college, in these years I graduated and learned to value of good financial and business practices, as well as the value of knowing who and how to ask for capital. I graduated high school at the age of sixteen, having already started college courses the year prior.
At the age of sixteen, I also started my first business. The Curb Appeal, during those days we were deep in a buyers market. Houses would often sit vacant for nearly a year before they would sell. My first business never made it beyond just a job, but I was able to successfully sell it to a friend, when the plumbing apprenticeship I had started at two year prior agreed opened a year round position for me.
At nineteen I became the youngest journeyman plumber in Washington state. I continued on working for others until I was twenty three at which time I started McKenzie Plumbing.
I took twelve years and pastored a church in Washington state, eventually buying a plumbing company which I still own. This business has allowed a great deal of freedom, and many high level relationships that I will be eternally grateful for. Overall my life has allowed me to pursue many wonderful adventures, but as I speak with many high performing individuals, I find there is a thirst for adventure! I determined with the encouragement of my good friend Matthew Delnay to make available adventures to those that want to join.
